In a symbolic vote, the largest U.S. academic group voted to boycott Israel over its treatment of the Palenstinians. Members of the American Studies Association voted by a 2-to-1 margin to endorse a boycott resolution citing Israel's violation of international law. However, Israel's oppressive policies are not limited to its treatment of the Palestinians. Jews and non-Jews of African descent have faced every sort of racial discrimination imaginable included segregation, eugenics and violent mobs which is a side of Israel that rarely makes the mainstream news reports.

Todd Starnes, a radio host of Fox News & Commentary took a page out of Sarah Palin’s book when he tweeted “The liberal Miss America judges won’t say this – but Miss Kansas lost because she actually represented American values,” During a campaign stop in North Carolina during John McCain’s run for President in 2008, Palin implied that certain parts of the nation were “Pro-American” implying that others were not. Of course, Starnes is in full spin mode with the same old Palin talking points blaming the “mainstream media” for misreporting his implied derogatory comments about the crowning of Nina Davuluri.
