South Carolina judges getting paid twice for the same job

The Chief Justice of South Carolina's Supreme Court started drawing her retirement in 2010, even though she continues to be paid a state salary. She and at least one other South Carolina judge are being paid over a quarter of a million dollars in retirement benefits between the two of them, even though they are not retired. We know corruption is a problem in the state legislature and in the executive branch, but is it a problem in the courts too?
