New Pope elected

Today on Occupy The Microphone, catch Gorgeous Gregg, Double A and Daisy Deadhead as they report on breaking news stories.

Catholics have a new Pope. The new pope, Jorge Mario Bergoglio (pronounced Ber-GOAL-io), will be called Francis, the 266th pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church.

In his own words; Bradley Manning's leaked audio from his trial sheds light on why he allegedly exposed Iraq and Afghanistan illegality and corruption inside the military through WikiLeaks.

An expose' on the chaos in Mexico attributed to the failed war on drugs. Mexicans  are being killed or disappearing from the streets and there seems to be no end in sight as Washington, DC has thus far refused to allow Latin America countries pursue their own independent drug policy.

The South Carolina House of Representatives has put forth a $22.7 billion spending plan that includes a 3 percent pay raise for corrections officers at maximum security prisons, a 20 percent co-pay increase for people on the state health plan and $40 million to repair roads and bridges. The budget opts out of the Affordable Care Act which means up to 500,000 of South Carolina's poor will not be offered a chance to participate in the federal health program.
