US soldier who massacred 16 Afghans gets life in prison

The relatives of the 16 Afghans massacred by US soldier Robert Bales are angry that he was sentenced to life in prison instead of being given the death penalty for the killing of their relatives, mostly women and children, on March 11, 2012.

Authorities in the UK raided the Guardian’s office in London to destroy hard drives in an effort to stop future publications of leaks from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. According to news reports. The raid however is not going to stop anymore revelations from coming out about the NSA’s spying program.
