Fast food and retail workers strike in Chicago

Fast food and retail service workers are striking in Chicago in one of its busiest business districts. The Nation reports, "Chicago’s downtown Loop area is the heart of commerce in the city. But beginning at 5:30 A.M. today, fast food and retail workers there have gone on strike, following New York City fast food workers who walked off the job in November and again earlier this month demanding higher wages and better working conditions."

Governor Nikki Haley signed a bill yesterday giving Boeing Co. $120 million dollars in incentives to entice them to expand in South Carolina. Boeing the biggest U.S. maker of commercial jets and military aircraft, is expected to report a 6 percent profit increase for the first quarter as increased deliveries of high-margin commercial jets offset the effects of the 787 Dreamliner grounding and reduced sales to the Pentagon according to reports.

Violence breaks out in France after the government legalized "gay marriage". Huge demonstrations broke out and protestors got into battles with riot police who were being attack with Molotov cocktails. Reports of attacks on gay couples were increasing as well as a report that legislators were being threatened.

Yesterday Daisy talked about the rape of men by women and if it is possible. We will pick up on that conversation and whether statutory rape against males is as harmful to them as when it happens to young girls.
